I recieved my undergrad through Oregon State in Liberal Studies, Pre-Education and Spanish. From there I transferred to Willamette for the MAT program.
I would have to say my most valuble experiences have been my experience in working with children. When I was in high school I did respite care and really developed a love for children and a desire to teach. In my undergrad I had the opportunity to work in classrooms through the America Reads program. These two experiences really solidified my plans to become a teacher, and I know there is nothing in this world I would rather do.
My love for kids is the main reason I want to be a teacher. There is no other job in this world that you can walk in and see 30 smiling faces looking back at you in wonderment of what the day will bring. I want to learn from my students as much as I want to teach them, and I want every day to hold new adventures. I love to learn and I want to pass that passion on to a new generation. I can't imagine spending the rest of my life doing something I don't enjoy, and I know that in teaching I will never feel that way.
